Streamlining my Learning Efforts

Everyday there’s something new, something important that I am missing out. I try to read it, bookmark and before i am able to get through it, there’s something else. I am definitely overwhelmed, but at the same time fatigued.

So I decided to create a list of resources I will focus on, in an order. The most important part of this journey is to be able to say “NO” confidently to various newsletters that keep flowing in my inbox, and focus strictly on the current goal I have set with text readings and/or coursework. Staying Disiplined and focused is the only way to learn, and learn fast.

  1. Finish reading 25 papers and submit a written summary on medium
  2. Fast.ai courses both parts (https://course.fast.ai/videos/?lesson=1)
  3. Review Johnathan Hui’s series on OD, NLP, RL and others.

Along with the list above, I will parallelly be reviewing book on Deep Learning Interview Questions. Since it covers an amazing breadth of concept which can only be learnt overtime, it will be a good idea to solve a question or two everyday and share learnings in small bullets as I do so.

The goal is to achieve a general sense of confidence about how SOTA models work and comfort in participating and understanding conversations in various Deep Learning communities, especially in Computer Vision and LLMs. This also extends to news sounding familiar and going through new model updates feels like a breeze opposed to the overwhelming feeling i get right now.

The most important part of this journey will also be able to review and write code. It will also be challenging since it is overwhelming to work on something new. Will share thoughts on how I plan to proceed on this maybe sometime later.
